Herbs for Ontario: OMAFRA herb workshop will focus on production and marketing of medicinal herbs in Ontario

Date:  August 24, 2011

Time: 10am-3pm

Location: Simcoe Research Station, 1283 Blueline Road, Simcoe, Ontario

Interested in the production and marketing of herbs for culinary and medicinal use? This workshop will include a speaker program on production, use and markets for culinary and medicinal herbs, a networking lunch and guided tours of a demonstration plot featuring over 100 herbs. Crops types featured in the plot include:

  • traditional European medicinals
  • herbs for traditional Chinese medicine
  • herbs for syurvedic medicine
  • culinary herbs
  • native field and forest herbs
  • other plants for health markets

Enjoy lunch and refreshments, meet with other producers and members of the herb industry and talk to University of Guelph staff and OMAFRA specialist. For more information and to register call 519-426-7123 or email leslie.parks@ontario.ca.  Please RSVP by August 19th, 2011.
