World Crop Twilight Grower Meetings – Aug 29, 30 & Sept 7, 2011

The Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association and Vineland Research Innovation Centre will be hosting three twilight meetings on ethnic vegetable production.

August 29: Vineland Research Innovation Centre, 4890 Victoria Ave. N., Vineland, Ontario

August 30: OMAFRA-UoG Simoce Research Station, 1283 Blueline Road, Simcoe, Ontario

September 7: J. Collins & Sons,  address will be provided with RSVP

Agenda for each session includes:

Introduction and Market Opportunities – Michael Brownbridge, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre

Ethnic Vegetable Production: Crops and Agronomic Needs – Ahmed Bilal, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre

Insect and Disease Management on Specialty Crops – Melanie Filotas, OMAFRA

Developing and Accessing Specialty Crop Resources in Ontario – Evan Elford, OMAFRA

Tour of field plots and Q&A in vegetable plots

All sessions are scheduled from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and include a complimentary light supper.
