Ontario Lavender Conference: The Business of Lavender

The Ontario Lavender Association invites you to attend a two-day conference titled “Ontario Lavender Conference: The Business of Lavender”

Where: Quality Inn and Suites, Woodstock ON

When: November 14 and 15, 2012

This conference features national and international speakers on a variety of topics including lavender production, lavender propagation, marketing, oil distillation, soap making, laws and regulations related to agri-tourism and value-added product development, culinary uses of lavender, and food safety and traceability. The conference will contain lavender-specific content, but also many topics applicable to similar operations that produce their own value-added products and/or are open to the public. Keynote speakers include:

Dr. Tim Upson, Curator and Acting Director of the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens, United Kingdom

Cathy Gehrt, Author and Culinary Expert, Discover Cooking with Lavender, Washington State

Connie Kehler, Executive Director, Canadian Herb Spice and Natural Health Product Coalition, Saskatoon SK

Donna Fleury, Business Development Specialist, Agriculture Centre, Alberta

Victor Gonzales, Owner of Victor’s Lavender, Sequim, Washington

Raymond Tsang, Natural Health Products Directorate, Health Canada, Ottawa ON
