Lavender 101 Workshops

With many new growers entering the lavender business, the Ontario Lavender Association (OLA) decided it is time to revisit the basics of lavender production. Lavender 101 will provide an overview of commercial lavender production from site preparation and planning through to oil distillation and bud cleaning. The workshop will be held in two locations to capture as many potential growers as possible. Note: Pre-registration and payment is required. See below for registration details.

1:00 pm       Tour of a Commercial Lavender Farm (Location 1 – Apple Hill Lavender;
Location 2 – Christel Lake Lavender)
Agri-tourism – The Rewards and Challenges
1:45 pm        Lavender Pruning, Harvesting and Maintenance Demonstrations
2:30 pm      Post-Harvest Demonstrations – Debudding, Bud Cleaning, Distillation,
Product Handling etc.
3:30 pm      Adjourn

Cost (Includes Lunch): $30 for OLA members, $50 for non-members

The registration deadline is May 29th for Location 1 (Simcoe) and June 5th for Location 2 (Greenbank)
