Ginseng Sprayer Workshop, July 2 2015

Sprayer operators should plan to attend a two-hour workshop on achieving the right amount of spray coverage in ginseng.

Sean Westerveld and Jason Deveau from OMAFRA will discuss what “good” spray coverage looks like in ginseng, and how to change your sprayer settings and volumes to match the size of the plants.

  • Does a foliar spray in a one-year old garden need the same settings as a drench application in a three-year old garden?
  • Is it better to change your boom height, pressure or disc-size to penetrate a mature canopy?
  • What does good coverage look like and how can you perform these diagnostics in your own operation?
  • Should I use the older ARAG nozzles with the orange deflectors, the newer ARAG nozzles or stick with my hollow-cones and drops?

Where: Kowanetz Farms Ltd., 1521 Concession 2, Delhi (follow the signs from there)
When: Workshop is planned from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday July 2nd. Rain date is Friday, July 3rd.

Registration is required! To register please contact Kathie Vysick at or 519-426-7046. The deadline to register is Friday, June 26.

Special thanks to Green Lea for providing coffee and snacks for the workshop, as well as proving attendees with samples of water-sensitive paper.
