The Ontario Lavender Association is hosting a GACP training workshop on February 22 in Simcoe. This workshop is open to growers of other crops that have similar challenges to lavender such as value-added product development, agri-tourism or on-farm sales.
The GACP workshop is a quality assurance skills training workshop that will help you address risk in your operation. These skills will help you meet your own internal goals and help you address those who ask you to meet their expectations. It is a hands-on interactive session that will result in a recognized certification. This training session will be led by Connie Kehler of the Herb, Spice and Specialty Agriculture Association and was developed by a Canada-wide team to specifically address the needs of herb and specialty crop producers. The program is recognized by Health Canada, the American Herbal Products Association and the World Health Organization.
