2019 IPM Workshops Now Offering CEU Credits

The following FREE workshops are now offering CEUs to Certified Crop Advisors. Sign-up sheets will be available at each session. These workshops are for those who will be scouting horticultural crops this year or looking to refresh their IPM knowledge.

GENERAL

Introduction to IPM

  • May 2, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Conference Rm 1, 2 & 3, OMAFRA Headquarters, 1st Floor (1 Stone Rd. West, Guelph)
  • Workshop Leader: Denise Beaton
  • Notes: Bring your own lunch. Handouts provided.

This workshop covers topics such as the importance of integrated pest management, disease causal agents, characteristics, symptoms and damage of different insects and mites, scouting for weeds in horticulture crops, pesticide safety, soil diagnostics, invasive species and farm visit biosecurity. It is an introductory course that covers the basic information that scouts need to know. Other scouting workshops will build on this information and will be tailored to the specific crops.
